Day Out with Thomas™, a cherished family event hosted at Heritage Railways and museums nationwide, offers an unforgettable experience for all ages. Each ticket grants you access to an interactive train ride featuring the life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine, alongside a day filled with exciting activities.
Guests can relish live entertainment, seize photo opportunities with Sir Topham Hatt, engage in lawn games, and explore the pop-up gift shop for exclusive Thomas merchandise. For those seeking a bit more adventure, there are options to indulge in Breakfast with Sir Topham Hatt or take a thrilling train ride with Percy.
This year, Day Out With Thomas™ is highlighting the theme of color. Prepare for a spectrum of family-friendly activities, games, arts, and crafts, all centered around vibrant hues. Even Thomas himself will join in the fun, adorned with colorful paint splats. The event promises joy for everyone, making it the perfect occasion to create cherished memories with loved ones.

A Day Out With Thomas Ticket Information
Tickets for this exceptional Day Out With Thomas™ experience can be purchased at the North Carolina Transportation Museum’s website!.
Prices are $20 on Fridays and $22 on weekends for ages 1 and up (additional service charges and fees may apply). It is strongly recommended to secure your tickets in advance, as walk-up sales will be limited, with no guarantee of availability.
Members will enjoy a $2 discount per Day Out with Thomas™ event ticket; however, this discount does not apply to “All Day Passes.” Event tickets encompass all on-site activities and one train ride with Thomas. For an added thrill, Percy train tickets are available at an extra $8 on Fridays or $10 on weekends. Please note that Percy Train tickets can only be purchased as an add-on after securing your Day Out With Thomas™ ticket and are limited in availability.
On Fridays, visitors have the option to purchase an “All Day Pass” for unlimited rides aboard the Thomas train, priced at $32. For an extra $8, the Percy train can be added to the Thomas Train “All Day Pass,” allowing unlimited rides on the Percy Train, but this is exclusively available on Fridays, subject to seating availability. Unlimited ride passes are limited and must be purchased in advance; no walk-up purchases will be accommodated.
